The Lakhamandal Temple is situated around 76 kms from Dehradun and was
resurrected in the 8th century and has a great mythological importance.
It is believed that the cruel son of Dritarashtra conspired to burn the
Pandavas alive in the Jatugriha. But luckily they were saved by power
Shakti and hence a Shakti temple has been constructed in respect of Lord
Shiva and Goddess Parvati. Also a peaceful Yamuna river flows along the
Lakha Mandal temple and gives it a devine and holy atmosphere.
